Theoretical Analysis of a Music Video




This music video uses the Reception Audience Theory by Stuart Hall. This is because I think that the audience broadly agrees with the message behind it. The message of this video shows the breakdown between the band members and the fight that they have because of it. The Effects Model is also used. The Uses and Gratifications Model has not been used, however because it would be extremely unusual for a viewer to watch this for escapism because people usually want to escape from bad things that might be going on in their life and this will most likely be something that is worse than that. Another reason that this video isn't part of that model is that it is not informative in any way to the audience watching this.

Analysis of Previous Students' Video and Digipak



From this task, we were able to learn what we would like the video and the advertising pieces to look like in terms of quality and polish. This will allow me to bring in the skills that I have learnt from other tasks but also my knowledge of iMovie and Photoshop.

Fashion and Props



We managed to accumulate pictures from Pinterest to make a board of all the different props and costumes we would like to use in our music video. We found this very easy and helpful because it was quick to get back to the board and see what we needed.
