Test Footage

To make sure that the location was suitable with lighting and props, we went to film some test footage. We then each had a go at editing the footage in our own way using the music that we will in our final video.

These test videos allowed us to test the lighting and the positioning of the camera in one of our planned locations. Using the same footage that we captured, we each had an opportunity of editing it all together the way that each of us wanted to. This allowed us to practice our editing techniques and to also use some new ones.

Shot List for Music Video

This shot list will allow us to plan what we had done with the storyboard but in much finer detail as this has the duration of shots and additional notes for what happens in the scene.

Storyboard for Music Video

This allowed us to;
 - Plan the narrative
 - Plan the performances
 - Plan the locations that we need
 - Plan camera angles, camera movements and editing that we will need to do

Examples of Indie Band Logos

To get inspiration for my own logo, I looked up examples of Indie Rock bands and found that they are quite simple in design. The majority of them don't have an illustration alongside what they are called. Most of them just use a unique typography style. If I were to be making a logo for a band rather than an artist, I would follow this trend.

Having said that, these examples of single artists also follow this trend. I particularly like Joe Bonamassa and Ozzy Osbourne's logos are good because they have an illustration with the typography.

This task taught me that complicated logos can be memorable but the simple ones can be just as recognisable. For that reason, I will be making one that is simple but effective which people will remember easily.
